Holy Paladin Tier 9 Bonuses

Here are the bonuses that have been datamined for Holy Paladin Tier 9:

  • 2 Piece Bonus — Increases the duration of your Judgements by 10 sec.
  • 4 Piece Bonus  — Increases the critical strike chance of your Holy Light spell by 5%
  • Update: 4 Piece Bonus - Increases the heal over time effect from Flash of Light in conjunction with Sacred Shield by 100%

Is it just me, or are these bonuses getting worse with each tier?  Why would we want an extra 10 second duration on our judgement?  And 5% critical strike on Holy Light is… meh…  The new 4-piece bonus is still pretty weak, but I like it better than the old one.

We know that some of the Tier 9 bonuses for other classes are placeholders or are going to get updates.  I hope the same is true for Holy Paladins, especially since the Tier 9 set gear will be easier than ever to get by running the daily heroic and regular dungeon quests to get Emblems of Triumph.  Here’s hoping for some better bonuses.

  1. Unless they’re also changing things enough so that it’s feasible for the Holy pally to (finally) Judge Light instead of the Ret, I’m not impressed.

    And WTF with the 4 piece bonus?! I thought they didn’t WANT us spamming HL anymore!

  2. They are changing Judgement of Light so that it gives the exact same benefit regardless of who judges it, but I still don’t see the point. The ret pally will overwrite it long before the duration is up.

  3. This is the first I’ve heard about this… At first, I teared up a little bit. I have the hardest time right now replacing perfectly itemized hast/crit/sp/int gear with the sp/int/crit OR haste gear in 25m ulduar. Looks like something is going to happen soon to how we’re going to benefit from certain stats becuase blizz has been setting us up with different gear for now 2 major patches. =(

  4. Really, they need to find better set bonuses for us, like, how about one reducing the cost of Flash of Light by 10% becase we’re going to be spamming it in 3.2? I think its a good time to /lesigh.

  5. I play a holy pala at high end raiding. Seriously blizzard have no clue what to do with holy palas anymore due to the dominance of resto druids and priests.

    The tier 9 is bloody awful. why can we actually get a decent tier bonus as tier 8 is a complete let down.

    It is forcing holy palas out of the game as in tbc they were gd to have, now they r just over looked every time

  6. Set bonuses used to be something that made a class powerful back in pre-bc days. But this is nothing really. I mean the benefit of keeping JoL up is one thing, but if you’re nerfing is to keep our mana pool down, what’s with the extra 10 seconds on a wisdom judgement?

  7. Looks like the set boni of T6 and T7 are still not being surpassed with T9, sigh. 10 second longer judgments? Almost as strange as getting back 100 mana on judging. ;)

  8. Tier 10 set effect- 2 peice-Reduces the cooldown of your exerocism by .5 sec

    4 peice- Increases the effect of concentration aura by 10%

  9. personally I plan on going with 7.5 legs and shoulders. T8 chest and helm, with the t9 gloves… this way I get the set bonus that work with each other. what do you think
