I've come across a nice little combo, that is, in a sense, combining 2 main macro's for a holy paladin, both the essential Sacred Shield and Beacon of Light.

/castsequence [target=focus] Sacred Shield, Beacon of Light

Instead of macro'ing 2, ive combined, and keymapped which aids you to buff the tank(focus) with the simple click of 2 buttons

Honestly i don't get why you guys all use

/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
....
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

This will result in.
If you turn off your sounds on purpose. every time you use that macro you will have to disable your sounds again.
how about simply turning them off in options.

i just wanna throw this out there. your judgement of light macro(which is very useful,) will go onto grid and healbot I'm assuming. The tweaked macro looks like this:

Judgement Macro
/cast [harm] [target=hbtargettarget] Judgement of Light

or for grid users

Judgement Macro
/cast [harm] [target=mouseovertarget] Judgement of Light

this has worked well for me for a very long time

[...] maximize the usage of these non-GCD spells, you should use macros to activate them at the same time as a GCD-based spell, so that you don’t have a delay [...]

Judgement Macro -- "One problem with this macro is that it will change your target from the tank to the mob. This isn’t a problem for me, since I heal using an Add-on and don’t need to have the person I want to heal targetted. However, ideally this macro would re-target the tank after judging. If anyone knows how to add that feature in, let me know."

#showtooltip Judgement of Light
/cast [harm] [@targettarget] Judgement of Light
/targetlasttarget

Note: When you have show and showtooltip in the same macro, the second line will be ignored. Also, with the "?" icon, it will display the spell or item icon after /use or /cast, so it is redundant.

@Xannthar, as far as I know you cannot cast harmful spells without targeting first. The best solution is to try the targetlasttarget command at the end of the macro. It should very quickly target->cast->re-target.

Another approach I figured out while leveling DPS is to break it up into a series of logical tests:

#showtooltip Judgement of Light
/a
/clearenemy [dead]
/targetenemy [noexists]
/startattack
/cast [harm] Judgement of Light
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

It follows the following logic in one keypress:

1. /a is short for assist.
Your current target's target will be used.
2. /clearenemy [dead] clears your target if it is dead.
3. /targetenemy [noexists] functions like pressing .
If you have no active target by now, it finds the closest one.
So, if you didn't have a friendly target to assist or your
friendly target's target was already dead, grab another.
4. /startattack is nice to add if you want to start swinging too.
If you're not going to melee, leave it out.
5. /cast will cast the judgment at your enemy target
6. Clears the annoying messages like
 "you're too far away"
 "you can't do that yet"

You can use this with focus by changing "/a" to "/a focus". You can enter a player name after /a also, but it can be tedious if you frequently PUG and have lots of macros to edit. I like this setup because I can bind it to my action bar and use it whether I'm grouped or solo. While this is great for DPS, the same idea of sequenced logical tests can be applied to any macro.

Some fights normally doesnt require cooldowns witch means it doesnt matter, but if you can heal through it without cooldowns, why pop em? Better to save em IF there would be any kinds of problems. Only reason to pop em seems to be if you're a recountwhore tbh.
